Week 02 – Live in the Word
This week’s key memory verse -
John 8: 31, 32 – If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”
To be God’s disciple, reading and adhering to His Word is a key factor. It makes perfect sense. A disciple is one who knows his master well. So, to be God’s disciple, the best way to know Him well is through the Bible. And when we know full well what He has in place for us - the truth sets us free.
Reflections -
How do I live in the Word? As I ponder upon this question, I realise that living in the Word really mean acting and living out what God reveals to me.
I could be reading the Bible; I could be listening to God’s word from the pulpit; I could be listening to Him through a bibliography or testimony of what God has done to a person’s life. It is from knowing what God has spoken, that I begin to analyse, understand and act on what God wants me to do. It is when I am close to God, that I am able to disregard all else and follow His ways.
Lord, through humility and total reliance, help me to learn day day day how you want me to live, and what you have instal for me. Help me not to become inward looking, but to realise you and commit my life to you. Only then will I learn to have 100% love for you… amen.
